Randy Richards came to Greeneville to continue his education and play baseball at Tusculum College. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in science, he taught in North Carolina for two years. Randy then came back to Tusculum to coach baseball and get his master’s degree in education. Since then, he has been with the Greeneville City School System for eleven years. He started his career as a science teacher and a coach. He has coached football, basketball, and baseball and served as the head baseball coach at GHS for eight years before moving into administration. He has been the Athletic Director for the past five years and directed the Freshmen Academy for two years prior to becoming the assistant principal. He now serves as the assistant principal in charge of discipline and attendance. Randy and his wife Monica have two boys, Hunter and Colton. He enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors. In his free time from September to December, he hunts deer; from March to May, he hunts turkey, and the rest of the year you can find him fishing for whatever will bite.
