Greene Technology Center's Next Principal Named

Both the Greeneville City and Greene County School Systems are proud to announce that Mr. Randy Wells, Ed.S. has been selected as Principal for Greene Technology Center.  Mr. Wells has served as the school’s Assistant Principal since 2005.  Starting out his career at Phillips Corporation, Mr. Wells then found a love for teaching in Career Technical Education.  After ten years with Phillips, Mr. Wells began teaching Machine Tool in 1993 at GTC, then named the Greeneville-Greene County Center for Technology.  In 2001, he added the responsibility of Instructional Coordinator in addition to teaching. Mr. Wells holds several degrees, including an Educational Specialist in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University, a Master of Education Degree in Classroom Technology from East Tennessee State University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Technology and Teacher Education from East Tennessee State University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Machine Tool Technology from Northeast State Community College.

Regarding his new role, Mr. Wells stated, “I am excited and honored to accept the position of Principal and CTE Director at the Greene Technology Center.  I look forward to working with the dedicated and accomplished team at the Center and cannot wait to get started planning the course for what lies ahead.  This is a very important calling for this community and it is a privilege to be granted the opportunity to provide career education for the students of Greeneville and Greene County.  I will work diligently to exceed the needs of our students and community.”

Director of Schools for Greene County, David McLain stated, “On behalf of Greene County Schools I would like to say congratulations to Mr. Randy Wells on being named the new director for the Greene Technology Center.  I have the upmost confidence that Mr. Wells will take the center to the next level.  With his knowledge and expertise in Career Technology Education and working with business and industry, I know that he will be able to improve upon the superior workforce that we now have within our community.”

Director of Schools for Greeneville City, Dr. Jeff Moorhouse stated, “I am excited for GTC as they move to the next phase of progress. Mr. Wells has been a key part of the recent success of this school. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. He has prepared his whole career for this opportunity and I am confident that he will represent GTC with great character and pride. He was the unanimous choice of the entire committee that was blessed to interview many outstanding candidates. I am excited to see what the future holds for GTC!”

Mr. Wells will assume his new role beginning with the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.
