GCS District Ranks #1 in Tennessee

The Greeneville City School District ranked #1 in the state of Tennessee on the 2016 Niche K-12 Best School and District Rankings released today. Greeneville also ranked #2 in the Best Teacher Category. According to the Niche Website “factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, student and parent reviews, and more."

“I am so excited for Greeneville City Schools,” said Dr. Jeffrey Moorhouse, Director of Schools. “The hard work and dedication of our teachers, principals and staff is truly outstanding and deserves recognition. I am proud of the accomplishments of our students, applying the lessons they learned in the classroom to their assessments. I am also grateful to the families of GCS for the support they give to our schools. This accomplishment does not happen without their support.”

In the individual school rankings, Greeneville High School ranked #7 among state high schools and Greeneville Middle School ranked #8 among state middle schools. Out of over 900 elementary schools, Tusculum View Elementary ranked #21, Hal Henard Elementary ranked #32, East View Elementary ranked #34 and Highland Elementary ranked #54. All of our elementary schools ranked in the top 6 percent in the state of Tennessee.
