MCDONALD'S STORE #7366 SIGNS MASTER PARTNERSHIP WITH GREENEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Providing resources and programs to enhance educational opportunities for all students at Greeneville High School is the focus of a Master Partnership agreement signed November 4 by representatives of McDonald's Store #7366 (Tusculum Boulevard) and Greeneville High School.

The partnership became official at a signing ceremony at Greeneville High School, and is part of the Partners in Education program, a joint project of the Greene County School System, the Greeneville City School System and the Greene County Partnership.  The contract was established for one year, after which time it will be evaluated and considered for renewal.

"Partners in Education is very excited to announce this partnership between McDonald's and Greeneville High School," said Kelly Burrell, Partners in Education Director.  "This partnership was designed to encourage a cooperative effort in several areas and both parties are extremely excited about it."

Objectives of the McDonald's and Greeneville High School Master Partnership Program are:  to develop resources including, but not limited to funding, associate involvement and ideas; to improve student knowledge of the commitment to education and community involvement by McDonald's Store #7366; to provide career awareness opportunities for students by making available speakers who work various fields at McDonald's Store #7366; to provide tours, job shadowing placements, and assist students with volunteer opportunities; to create a partnership that enables personnel from the educational, professional and health care world to interact and accomplish common goals; and to work together on joint projects, such as Career Day, competitive events, etc.

Brian Grubb, Regional Supervisor for McDonald's said, "The signing ceremony reinforces McDonald's commitment to the students at Greeneville High School.  The direction taken by Greeneville High School to give the students a solid educational foundation is remarkable, and we are pleased to be a partner in that effort."   

Activities specifically outlined in the contract include:  McDonald's Store #7366 will provide resource speakers for Greeneville High School in order to enhance various programs of study; as well as provide tours, job shadowing and volunteer opportunities for students; McDonald's Store #7366 will allow Greeneville High Schools' Booster Club to hold fundraisers collecting up to 15% of the profits; McDonald's Store #7366 will allow coupon books in Greeneville High Schools' school colors to be sold for fundraising efforts; McDonald's Store #7366 will provide Value Meal coupons and free student lunches as student incentives; McDonald's Store #7366 will deliver teacher-ordered lunches to Greeneville High School one day per week; Greeneville High School will share building space, when prior arrangements are made, for McDonald's Store #7366 events; Greeneville High School students will perform service projects and help with fundraising events for the Ronald McDonald House; Greeneville High School will place a banner in the school representing the master partnership between Greeneville High School and McDonald's Store #7366; and staff, faculty and students of Greeneville High School will work to promote and support McDonald's Store #7366, through the Greene & White newspaper, yearbook, etc.
