Greeneville City Schools is proud to announce that Greeneville High School has been named to the 3rd Annual AP District Honor Roll. GHS is one of only 539 school districts across the United States and Canada that are being honored by the College Board for simultaneously increasing access to Advanced Placement (AP) course work while maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams. Only four (4) districts in Tennessee met the criteria to be placed on the AP Honor Roll this year. According the the College Board press release "achieving both of these goals is the ideal scenario for a district’s AP program because it indicates that the district is successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are likely to benefit most from rigorous AP course work. More than 90 percent of colleges and universities across the U.S. offer college credit, advanced placement or both for a score of 3 or higher on an AP Exam — which can potentially save students and their families thousands of dollars in college tuition. "
This is the second year in a row that GHS has received the prestigious distinction. For more detailed information, please visit http://press.collegeboard.org/releases/2012/record-539-school-districts-make-college-boards-3rd-annual-ap-district-honor-roll.

“Greeneville High School has achieved something very remarkable. It managed to open the doors of its AP classrooms to many more students, while also increasing the percentage of students earning high enough AP Exam grades to stand out in the competitive college admission process and qualify for college credit and placement,” said Trevor Packer, the College Board’s senior vice president of Advanced Placement and college readiness.
