Saturday was a day set aside to honor Coach Bill Brimer with the running of the second annual Bill Brimer Invitational Track and Field Meet. The GHS Track squads did not disappoint with the Devils finishing second in the team scoring and the Lady Devils finishing third in the girls competition. Once again freshman Ty Youngblood led the way with a first place finish in the 110m hurdles and a second place finish in the 300m hurdles and the triple jump. Evan Grooms added a first place in the discus and a second place in the shot while Zack Lane won the shot and finished sixth in the discuss. The 4X800 relay team of Valez, Englehardt, R. Jones, and Hybarger recorded a season best for a win. Makensie Jones led the girls by placing in three events (2nd in 100m hurdles, 3rd in 300m hurdles, 6th in long jump). Abbi Morelock also placed in three events (high jump, 100m hurdles and shot). The GHS athletes recorded 15 personal bests on the day and added six seasonal best performances.
