Bio

I was born in Kingsport, TN on April 22nd of 1978. I don't really remember anything about that, but I know it happened because my mom swears it did. I'm a twin, which means I'm a clone, which means I'm definitely better than singulars (what we call you people). After James (my clone) and I were born, I am told we were taken to Gray, TN. I'm not sure why we were taken there - I certainly never asked to be taken there. I grew up there. I can tell you that for a fact. I remember parts of that after I was four or five.

I will skip the whole elementary and middle school section; it's not very interesting. It's the same as yours, I'm sure.

I attended Daniel Boone High School. Go Blazers! Actually, I've never really said that before. While I'm a fan of Blazers...I never really understood why they chose that article of clothing for their mascot. Then again, I'd rather say that than Go Cardigans!

After Daniel Boone, I traveled to East Tennessee State University for college. It was a long and arduous journey, but I managed to make it there unscathed. I studied at ETSU from 96 to 2000. I got to study in France two summers during that period of time. I really enjoyed that, except for the whole not having a job for an entire summer and having to sell my blue jeans for food. Believe it or not, you can get about $80 for a pair of Levi's. The only problem for me was finding a French person who was my size; I'm a giant in Europe. I graduated with a BA in French and English. No one knows about the English thing; I prefer it stay a secret.

I decided that four years of school wasn't enough for me.

I went to ETSU for two more years. I got what's called an MAT. I had put these in the bathroom, at the entrance to my home, in the floorboard of my car, but never had I had one on my wall. I am all about new experiences. I got one and decided to call it a Master of Arts in Teaching instead of just a mat. I think calling it something else really added character to it.

After receiving my Master of Arts in Teaching, I got lucky and landed a job teaching English in France. It was in a little city called Deauville.

I liked living there, but the job was contracted for a year, and I made the questionable decision of leaving to try to make my dream come true - the dream of teaching high school French in the US.

It was hard to find a job. I interviewed for a few jobs - none of them were actually French jobs - they were all Spanish/English jobs where I was trying to convince them to hire me instead. Take a chance on French, I'd say...yeah, it didn't work.

After thinking I'd have to get a job somewhere doing something like work, my former high school French teacher called me to tell me that there was job open in her hometown, Lafollete, TN. I had never heard of Lafollette, TN, but it sounded French, so I thought it would be pretty close to moving back to France. I taught at Campbell County High School for three years. Go Cougars! I did say that one a few times. I was a football coach my first year there. It was an interesting experience. I never coached football again, but I did do yearbook for two years. I left after three years because a job opened up in Greeneville, TN.

I have been in Greeneville since fall of 2006. I am very happy to be here. I also do Mock Trial because Mr. Ayers tricked me into doing it, but I really liked it, so I don't hold that against him.

I am currently not teaching French in order to serve as the system's Virtual Learning Coordinator. I still speak French but not professionally.

I am currently working on another degree at ETSU. I will finish this degree in the fall/spring/summer of 20??
