What's an academic/technology coach?

Well, my role is not really to be a "coach," but a to be resource for teachers and students, another teacher in the classroom working the students, another person to collaborate with  on a teacher's planning.  In other words, if a teacher or student wants to work on Moodle, I'm there to help,.  If a teacher wants to know what all is on the textbook CD's, I'll see what I can find.  If students are working on a project in a lab, I'll be there as an extra teacher. A class wants to make electronic flashcards?  Call me.  If teachers or students have a great idea but are not sure how to implement it?  I bet we can work it out.  Students want to make a movie?  I'll work with them and give them a camera to use.  Students want to collaboarate with another school on a project?  I'll help teachers find or create one and help the classes see it through.  If anyone wants to learn about a program but doesn't have the time to do it?  I'll do the background work and share some quick tips.  Want to set up a twitter for students or a blog with grads in Iraq?  That's where I come in.  If teachers want to see how another teacher conducts a lesson?  They  can go. I'll stay and teach the class.  Not as good as they could have, but I'll do my best.

I am a teacher.  My job is not to sit in an office all day, and I wouldn't be happy doing that, so give me work to do!  Share your ideas with me and needs with me.  I am here for you and the students.
