Changes Coming to ACT

Beginning in April 2025, students taking the ACT on a Saturday (a National test date) who choose online testing will have the option to take a shorter ACT that makes the science test optional. While the other sections (English, reading, and math) of the test will be shorter, students will have more time, on average, to answer each question. Beginning in September 2025, this change will be in place for all students testing on Saturdays, whether online or on paper. School-day ACT testing will see this change in spring 2026. ACT announced these changes on July 15, 2024 ACT Announces Changes. Please follow ACT's page for continued updates.
