GHS Student Tech Department
Welcome to the Student Led Help Desk at GHS! Our crew of students are Dell Certified Technicians here to help with students and teachers with their technology needs. The Tech Crew is Led by Tabitha Zavaleta.
Once a week the students walk down the Roby Fitzgerald Adult Center and lead a class on computers. Students that go through this program earn an industry certification as a Dell Repair Technician.

Computer Tips
Here are some helpful tips on taking care of your computer, and some troubleshooting tips that you can try when you run into issues. Please feel free to reach out to a Devil Technology Specialist or the Help Desk (via chat or email) if you have any issues, questions or concerns about your device.
How to properly care for your computer:
When carrying the computer, make sure it is in the protective sleeve. Try not to carry it while it is open. If you must carry it while it is open, carry it by the bottom (keyboard side). Picking up or carrying it by the screen can cause the screen to get damaged.
Do not carry anything in the protective sleeve other than the computer, charger, earbuds, and mouse.
Check the laptop before you close it to ensure nothing is on the keyboard, as that might cause the screen to get damaged.
Remember charge your computer every night you so your computer will be ready for the next day.
Make sure you restart your computer regularly, weekly is best. Click on the “Start” button, then “Power”. Then select the “Restart” (to turn the computer off and bring it back up) or “Shutdown” (to totally power off the device.)
Don’t eat or drink around the computer, as crumbs can get in the keyboard/trackpad or drinks can get spilled on it and cause them to stop working.
