Mrs. Wendy Brown’s son Cade is stationed at the Air Force Base in South Korea. Chick-fil-A is one of his favorite treats from home. Over lunch one day, Mrs. Brown talked to 5th graders about life on the Air Force Base. Students learned that all US military bases have some fast-food restaurants, but none have a Chick-fil-A. Also, military bases have grocery stores called “commissaries.” You can buy almost anything there that you can get at your local grocery store, BUT there are some things that the commissary on overseas bases cannot get. One thing they do not have is Chick-fil-A sauces. Students loved the idea of sending some love from Tusculum View to Cade and his squadron in South Korea. If you eat at Chick-fil-A and have a leftover, sealed, in-date sauce packet of any flavor, bring it to our donation boxes in the lobby. We are only collecting the small packets, no bottles. Also, we are not collecting ketchup, mayo, or other brands at this time. We are collecting Chick-fil-A sauces since that is one of Cade’s favorites and something he cannot currently get at the Air Force base. Mrs. Brown will mail these tasty little packets to Cade in South Korea, and he can share with his fellow Airmen! Thanks, Tigers! #TigersGive #TigersServe To hear 5th Graders tell you more about this service project, check out their video: https://gcsvideo.gcschools.net/View.aspx?id=24191~5e~WEi4rGs6iD

Birthday Book Club forms are due Friday! What is the Birthday Book Club fundraiser? Birthday Book Club is a chance for your child to place a brand-new book of their choice in the Tusculum View Library. The book will have your child’s name and photo inside the cover in honor of their birthday. Students enjoy seeing their pictures and their friends’ choices as the years go by! This provides our library with new books and is a great way to honor your child’s birthday! How does it work? Forms went home with students on January 21st. You can purchase a book for $20. If you have more than one child who attends TV, you can choose to purchase a separate book for each child OR you can purchase one book that they share. Forms with money are due before February 7th. In March, your child will choose a brand-new book from a wide selection of exciting, popular titles to add to our library. They will be the first to check it out, and their photo will go in the front cover to show their generosity in supporting their school library. Thank you for supporting this awesome fundraiser for our library and great Tusculum View tradition!
