Core Values: Integrity, Service before Self, and Excellence in All We Do

AFJROTC Mission: To develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community

TN-20026 Mission: To benefit our school, local community, and nation while promoting a sense of community within the unit.

Welcome to the Greeneville Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) official web page! AFJROTC is a program dedicated to developing high school students into motivated young adults that will positively shape their community. AFJROTC gives students in high school a chance to experience leadership and develop their teamwork skills. The program does not require any student to join the military nor will there be an attempt to recruit for the military. The Instructors, however, will help prepare all cadets in the program for future careers, whether military or civilian.

We are a family here in TN-20026, and we'd love for you to be a part of it.

About Us:

Greeneville established our Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2002. There are currently 45 cadets enrolled in the Greeneville High School AFJROTC (TN-20026) program this academic year (2023-2024). The Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI), Major Tyler Stabiler, and Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) Master Sergeant Jason Talmage are the instructors of Greeneville TN-20026, they divide the curriculum taught in the class. Major teaches Aerospace Science (AS), while Sergeant teaches Leadership Education (LE) and drill.

GHS uses a 4x4 schedule (90 mins classes) and cadets earn their PE, Wellness, Civics and Personal Finance credits for attending JROTC all four years. Cadets wear OCPs or Blues on their assigned school day once a week. On Mondays cadets learn Aerospace Science, Tuesday is Leadership Education, Wednesday is Uniform Wear and Drill, Thursday is Cadet Leadership Activities and Friday is Physical Training (PT). PT normally takes in Burley Stadium but, on colder days we utilized the Gym or Wrestling room. PT consists of stretches/warm-up, and a workout, followed by a fun game. Cadets are issued PTUs, OCPs/ABUs, and Blues uniforms at the beginning of the year by their flight logistics team.

AFJROTC is not just about in-class instruction. In this program, cadets are expected to put in an average of about 12 hours of community service. We also have quite a few co-curricular activities inside of AFJROTC, such as Raiders, Drill, CyberPatriot, StellarXplorers, Drones, etc.In addition to co-curriculars and community service, cadets also get the opportunity to participate in many events within our program like our Combat Dining-In, Bataan Death March, and Formal Awards Ceremony. We even have a tutoring program, Kitty Hawk Honors Society (KHHS) led BY cadets FOR cadets. All community service, co-curriculars, and events are led by cadets and are held outside of the school day.

AFJROTC is a program built on the foundation of our Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence In All We Do. We strive to develop a sense of responsibility and character in our cadets and to provide them with the opportunities to improve their leadership skills. For their hard work, cadets can earn ranks, promotions, awards, and staff and leadership positions.
